Born in St. Petersburg, trained in classical figurative painting, Lavi Li chose the world itself as her studio - traveling with Bedouins through the Sahara, drifting down the Nile, settling among people of remote Omani villages. For the past three years, she has moved through the Arabian Peninsula bearing witness to ways of life that modernity is quietly erasing. What she brings back, she paints in oils. Slowly. In permanence. Against forgetting.
